Sample Types and Appropriate Injectors For solids, choose the Thermal Desorber, Heated Static Headspace, PTV, or Headspace Autosampler. For liquids, choose the on-column, Heated Split/Splitless, Heated Flash Vaporization, PTV, Heated Static Headspace, or Purge & Trap, Liquid Injection Valve, Liquid Autosamplers or Headspace Autosampler. For gases, choose the On-column, Gas Sampling Valve, Method TO-14 Air Concentrator or Heated Static Headspace. For SPME fibers, choose the Heated Flash Vaporization with low volume SPME liner or Heated Split/Splitless.
To add automation, select the Method 5030 Purge & Trap Autosampler or the 20/42-vail Liquid Autosampler. |

(1) Methanizer (for low level CO and CO2)
--- CO and CO2 are converted to methane because of the methanizer, they can be detected by the FID down to 1ppm,whereas the TCD can only detect CO or CO2 at 100ppm at best. The methanizer consists of a 6” x 1/8” SST tube with a special nickel catalyst powder.
